New Parents

From our Directors

Welcome, new parents! Whether onstage or off, it is our goal that we find a home for every student who wants to participate in our program. If you’re asking yourself how to get your student more involved in our program, here are two of the best ways to do so.

  1. Get your student involved in a theatre class! While students do not have to be in a theatre class to participate in after-school productions, the time in class really helps us get to know students and their abilities!

  2. Encourage your student to audition or participate in a tech crew for a production! We typically have production auditions in August and early December. No prior experience is required, and we encourage your student to jump right in!

Finally, to support your student and the program as a whole, we encourage you to get active with our Booster Club! This amazing group of volunteers not only provides this invaluable support structure, but it also develops friendships. These are the people you can count on, sit with, and with whom you can build lasting memories. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask any questions that come to mind. We are excited to get to know you and your student!

Message from our President

Hello Theatre parents!  My name is Kerri Tur and I am proudly serving as the Elkins Theatre Booster Club President.  Our Booster Club is a proud supporter of ETC Troupe 5136.  We strive to ensure that the department and students receive the necessary financial support for production needs and competition travel expenses and volunteer support in assisting with shows, workshops, and competitions.  Theatre is an important part of our thespians’ education, and the Theatre Arts have the added benefit of promoting personal growth and social development.  We feel so fortunate to support these amazingly talented students on their educational and artistic journey.

The success of any booster organization is determined by those involved.  We need support from each and every one of you to help make our organization a success.  Booster is comprised of the families of our students.  We come together to play a vital role in assisting with the needs of the students and the Theatre Department.  Production costs encompass set building, costumes, makeup, props, lighting, sound, and advertising.  Our booster organization offsets these costs through fundraising from concession sales, an annual Haunted House, sponsorships, and family donations. Volunteers graciously donate their time to help organize and work at these events.  Volunteers can also assist with productions in set building, costume alterations, and procurement, photography, and publicity. Sharing time and talent with the students and directors benefits the entire program and is essential for the Theatre program to continue to flourish.

I personally look forward to working with you so Troupe 5136 can have their best year!

Kerri Tur
